Three held with gold, silver, and cash worth over one crore in Kailali
The Armed Police Force Nepal, under Border Out Post (BOP) Pagiapasar of Battalion No. 34, Kailali, apprehended them on Saturday evening with goods worth over one crore rupees.
KATHMANDU: Three individuals have been arrested with gold, silver, and cash in Bhajani Municipality-5, Kawakhheda Border Area of Kailali.
The Armed Police Force Nepal, under Border Out Post (BOP) Pagiapasar of Battalion No. 34, Kailali, apprehended them on Saturday evening with goods worth over one crore rupees.
The arrested individuals include 36-year-old Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from Chaukuni Municipality-10, Surkhet, 31-year-old Hark Bahadur Bik from Birendranagar Municipality-1, Surkhet, and 32-year-old Mahesh Sunar from Panchpuri Municipality-11.
The suspects were heading to Nepal from India when they were stopped for a check.
Upon inspection, they were found in possession of 620 grams of gold valued at approximately Rs 80,79,561, 8 kilograms 914 grams of silver worth Rs 15,28,460, 611,625 Indian Rupees, Saudi Riyals, four mobile phones, and silver-plated utensils.
The arrest was confirmed by DSP and spokesperson Shailendra Thapa.
