Cancer-stricken Mohanyal-3 Ward Chair passes away
Giri is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
KATHMANDU: Nandaram Giri (Naveen), the Ward Chairperson of Mohanyal Rural Municipality-3 in Kailali, has passed away at the age of 36.
Giri, who had been battling oral cancer, died on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at Dododhara Hospital in Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-1, according to family sources.
Despite ongoing treatment and regular medication, Giri continued performing his daily duties as a ward chairperson.
Giri is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
Originally from Phalebisauna, he was also a district member of the Nepali Congress in Kailali.
His funeral will be held today in Phalebisauna.
Giri was first elected as ward chairperson in the 2074 local elections and was re-elected in 2079 as a candidate from the Nepali Congress.
Known as a dedicated and popular youth leader, his death marks a significant loss for his constituents and the party.
