Nepal, China sign BRI framework deal

KATHMANDU: Nepal and China have signed a framework agreement to cooperate under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The agreement was signed today in Beijing by Amrit Bahadur Rai, Joint Secretary of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Li Suxie, Vice Chair of China’s National Development and Reform Commission.

The signing took place on the third day of Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to China, following an invitation from Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
