St. Xavier’s College honors alumni Miss Nepal and Mr. Nepal

KATHMANDU: St. Xavier’s College honored alumni Miss Nepal and Mr. Nepal for their significant contributions to society during the Xavier’s Day celebration 2024 on Tuesday.

Among those recognized were Priyanka Rani Joshi, Miss Nepal World 2022; Nancy Khadka, Miss Nepal International 2022; Dr. Sareesha Shrestha, Miss Nepal Earth 2022; Dr. Vijay Duwadi, Mr. Nepal 2023; and Ronish Khadgi, a finalist in the Mister Nepal 2022 Model Hunt. These alumni were acknowledged for their significant achievements in their respective fields.

Fr. Dr. Augustine Thomas, S.J., the college principal, emphasized that their accomplishments serve as an inspiration for current students to make meaningful contributions to society. He encouraged them to ‘be moonshot thinkers’ and strive for transformative goals.

The event was chaired by Mr. Yogendra Shakya, who reminisced about his own Xavierian days and urged students to follow in the footsteps of past alumni by challenging societal norms and striving for change.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a 3D replica model of the college, complete with an interactive QR code for digital navigation.

Xavier’s Day, celebrated annually on Dec 3, honors the life and legacy of St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit co-founder dedicated to education and service across Asia. St. Xavier’s College celebrated its recent accreditation as a QAA Certified College by the University Grant Commission.
