KATHMANDU: Janakpur Bolts claimed their second consecutive victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) today, defeating Karnali Yaks by 8 wickets in the third match of the tournament.

Chasing a target of 142, Janakpur completed the chase in just 15.1 overs. Captain Anil Shah played a key role in the victory, scoring an aggressive half-century off 42 balls, contributing 62 runs.

Opening batsman Asif Sheikh supported with 36 runs, while Lahiru Milintha made a quickfire 24. James Neesham remained not out at 16.

For Karnali, Mohammad Moinuddin and Zishan Maqsood took one wicket each.

Earlier, Karnali Yaks, opting to bat first after winning the toss, managed 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted overs.

Captain Sompal Kami and Arjun Khatri played aggressive knocks towards the end, with Kami scoring 29 runs and Khatri making 33. Gulshan Kumar top-scored with 36 runs.

Karnali’s openers, Dev Khanal and Shikhar Dhawan, fell cheaply for 1 and 14 runs, respectively.

Chadwick Walton made 8 runs, and Babar Hayat contributed 12 runs. Zishan Maqsood was dismissed for a duck. Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav were not out on 29 and 0 runs, respectively.

For Janakpur, Mohammad Mohsin was the standout bowler, taking two wickets, while Kishore Mahato, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Harsh Thaker, and James Neesham each took one wicket.
