Senior Vice Chair Pokharel assigned as acting chairperson

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has appointed Senior Vice Chair Ishwar Pokharel as the acting party chair.

According to CPN-UML’s Publicity Department Head Rajendra Gautam, this decision was made after Chair Oli departed for China today on an official visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang.

Under Section 21(2) of the CPN-UML’s amended statute of 2049 (2078), the responsibility of the acting president was entrusted to Senior Vice Chair Pokharel.

Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on Dec 5 after completing his visit to China.
