KATHMANDU: The Vice-Chairperson of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in Rukum East is leading from the Maoist party.

In the rural municipality, where the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have formed an alliance, Maoist candidate Narpura Budha holds a significant lead.

She is ahead by over 800 votes.

Narpura Budha has secured 1,878 votes, while the alliance candidate, Keshkumari Tulachan, has garnered 1,058 votes.

In Putha Uttarganga-2, Jagat Gharti from the Maoist party was elected unopposed as the ward chairperson.

In the 2079 elections, the Maoist Centre won both the chairperson and vice-chairperson positions in Putha Uttarganga.
