Fire electrical shop causes over Rs 10 million loss
The blaze destroyed a significant stock of electrical goods.
KATHMANDU: A fire caused by an electrical short circuit has resulted in damages exceeding Rs 10 million in Bardibas Municipality-14, according to police reports.
The fire broke out last night at New Durga Electric Suppliers, a shop located on the Bardibas-Jaleshwor road in Aurahi Road.
The blaze destroyed a significant stock of electrical goods.
The incident occurred in the ground floor of a three-story building owned by Ramsewak Mahato.
Out of the 13 shutters on the floor, items in six were completely burned.
The shop was operated by Sahajis Nadaf, a resident of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Dhanusha, who had rented the premises.
The fire was brought under control with the combined efforts of locals, security forces, and four fire engines, including one from Ramgopalpur Municipality, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Revati Raman Pokharel of the Bardibas Area Police Office.
