PM Oli’s departs for China (photos)
The Prime Minister departed from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 11 AM on Dec 2, aboard a Himalayan Airlines chartered flight.
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has embarked on a four-day official visit to China from Dec 2-5, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. This marks PM Oli’s first official trip abroad since taking office.
The Prime Minister departed from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 11 AM on Dec 2, aboard a Himalayan Airlines chartered flight.
During his visit, PM Oli is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and hold discussions with Premier Li Qiang on a range of mutual interests.
A meeting with Zhao Leji, Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee, is also scheduled. PM Oli will address key events, including a speech at Peking University and a presentation at the Nepal-China Business Forum, jointly organized by the Nepal Embassy in Beijing, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse, Radhika Shakya, along with a delegation that includes Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, lawmakers, senior government officials, business leaders, and media representatives. The delegation is scheduled to return to Nepal on Dec 5.
