Liverpool strengthens top spot with 2-0 win over Manchester City

KATHMANDU: Liverpool defeated Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday, further solidifying their lead in the league.

Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scored the goals to secure the victory for Liverpool.

Gakpo gave Liverpool the lead in the 12th minute.

In the 78th minute, Liverpool doubled their advantage after City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega fouled Luis Díaz, resulting in a penalty. Salah converted the penalty, sealing the win for his team.

With 34 points from 13 matches, Liverpool now tops the table. Manchester City, with 23 points, is in fifth place.

Arsenal and Chelsea, in second and third place respectively, both have 25 points.
