Congress wins Kirtipur 4, UML takes third place

KATHMANDU: The candidate from the Nepali Congress has won the post of Ward Chairman in Kirtipur Municipality, Ward No. 4.

According to the recently concluded vote count, Rajendra Baniya of the Nepali Congress was elected as the ward chairman with 1,055 votes.

Independent candidate Pavitra Khadka received 806 votes, while Badri Budhathoki of the CPN-UML secured 460 votes.

Narayan Bista from the CPN (Maoist Centre) received 381 votes, and Bijesh Basnet from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) earned 142 votes.

In the 2079 election, Independent candidate Shyam Kumar Adhikari won with 1,380 votes.

This time, his wife Pavitra Khadka ran as an independent candidate.

In that election, Shyam Kumar defeated Rajendra Baniya of the Nepali Congress.

The vote count for the top position in Kirtipur is still ongoing.
