Kathmandu Gurkhas set 112-run target for Chitwan Rhinos

KATHMANDU: In the second match of the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL), Kathmandu Gurkhas set a target of 112 runs for Chitwan Rhinos.
Batting first after losing the toss, Kathmandu Gurkhas were dismissed for 111 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets. The Chitwan Rhinos bowlers dominated, leaving the Kathmandu batsmen helpless.
Pakistani bowler Sohail Tanvir was the standout performer for Chitwan Rhinos, taking 5 wickets in 4 overs.
Kathmandu Gurkhas’ opener, Stephen Eskinazi, was out for just 2 runs, while the other opener, Michael Levitt, made a quick 25 runs but couldn’t stay at the crease for long.
Sumit Maharjan top-scored with 29 runs, while Gerard Erasmus contributed 4 runs. Bhim Sarki was out for 1 run. Shankar Rana scored 16 runs, and Rashid Khan was dismissed for 4.
Captain Karan KC and Shahab Alam both went out for 1 run each. Daniel Douthwaite made 19 runs, and Dipesh Kandel remained not out on 1.
For Chitwan Rhinos, along with Sohail Tanvir’s brilliant bowling performance, Rijan Dhakal, Kushal Malla, Amar Singh Rautela, and Luke Benkenstein each took 1 wicket.
