KATHMANDU: The vote count for the by-election for the post of mayor of Kirtipur Municipality in Kathmandu is ongoing.

As of 9:30 AM on Monday, Nepali Congress candidate Krishna Man Dangol remains in the lead.

Dangol has received 1,313 votes so far.

Following him is Surendra Manandhar, the candidate from the CPN (UML), with 978 votes.

Shivsharan Maharjan from the CPN (Maoist Centre) has secured 716 votes, while Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Dhurva Maharjan has garnered 227 votes.

Independent candidate Rajman Maharjan has received 520 votes, and another independent candidate, Dinesh Kumar Adhikari, has 631 votes.

In Kirtipur Ward 1, Congress’s Ichha Kumar Maharjan has been declared the winner. The vote count for Ward 4 is still ongoing.
