KATHMANDU: The results of the by-election held on Sunday for vacant positions in local levels are coming in rapidly.

The Nepali Congress has won in 15 wards, while the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML) has secured victory in 5 wards, including one rural municipality chair and one vice-chair.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has won 5 wards, including one rural municipality chair and one municipal vice-mayor.
The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has won two ward chairmanships in the Madhesh State.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), CPN-Unified Socialist, Nepal Labour Farmers Party, and independent candidates have each secured one seat.
