Namonarayan Majhi elected Chair of Gramathan Rural Municipality
His closest competitor, Balram Sardar Tharu of the Nepali Congress, received 6,333 votes.

KATHMANDU: Namonarayan Majhi of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has been elected as the Chairperson of Gramathan Rural Municipality, Morang.
He secured 6,969 votes in the by-election.
His closest competitor, Balram Sardar Tharu of the Nepali Congress, received 6,333 votes, while UML’s Tulsiram Bishwas garnered 4,159 votes.
The by-election was held following the demise of Congress Chairperson Jayaprakash Gachhadar.
