KATHMANDU: Devika Lamichhane of the Maoist Centre has won the deputy chair election in Nalgad Municipality, Jajarkot.
According to the final results, Lamichhane secured 4,272 votes, defeating Indra Chand Singh of the Nepali Congress, who received 3,147 votes.
UML candidate Sunita Bohara came third with 2,542 votes, while RSP’s Parbati Pun and RPP Nepal’s Sunita Pun Rawal secured 179 and 58 votes, respectively.
In the 2022 local elections, Congress’s Sarita Singh was elected as deputy mayor.
This time, Congress fielded Indra Singh, Sarita’s sister-in-law, as their candidate.
