KATHMANDU: In the local level by-election, 102-year-old Govinda Lamichhane from Ward No. 12 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City cast his vote today.
He participated in the election for the position of ward chairperson.
He voted at the Bishnu Jyoti Basic School polling station in Bhorles, where voting began at 7:00 AM.
Voter turnout has been enthusiastic.
The Election Office arranged two polling stations, and by 1:00 PM, 4,223 out of 8,053 eligible voters had cast their ballots.
Voters are still lined up at polling stations to vote.
At the Bishnu Jyoti Basic School polling station, 1,843 votes were cast, while 2,380 votes were cast at the Pratibha Basic School polling station in Sigreni, as confirmed by election officer Saroj Paudel.
