All victims in the Friday vehicle accident in Ramechhap identified

KATHMANDU: The identities of all the victims who died in a Sumos vehicle accident in Ramechhap on Friday have been confirmed.
The incident occurred on the Khimti-Betali road section of Gokulganga Municipality-6, Simaldanda, when a vehicle with the registration number NA 1 J 7123 plunged 300 meters down a hill, resulting in the death of five people at the scene.
According to the Ramechhap District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as Ramchandra Basnet, the ward chairperson of Gokulganga Municipality-4; 35-year-old Hirabahadur Karki from Chisapani, Manthali Municipality-10; 30-year-old Kavita Karki from Gokulganga Municipality-5; her 7-year-old daughter, Swastika Khadka; and 28-year-old Sabina Gajmer Bik from Belati Jogidanda, Gokulganga Municipality-4. The bodies of all five individuals have been taken to the District Hospital in Manthali for post-mortem.
Three others sustained injuries in the crash and were brought to Kathmandu for treatment.
The injured include 42-year-old Keshav Sharma from Lekhnath Municipality, Kaski; 4-year-old Rabin Bik, the son of the deceased Sabina Gajmer; and 27-year-old Saraswati Karki from Betali, Gokulganga Municipality-4. All the injured are receiving treatment at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu, according to the police.
