Ramechhap accident: Gokulganga-4 Ward Chair dies

KATHMANDU: In an accident in Ramechhap, Ward Chairperson Ramchandra Basnet of Gokulganga Rural Municipality, Ward No. 4, has lost his life.

On Friday, a Sumo with registration number 7123, heading towards Betali from Kathmandu, met with the accident at Simkhola while traveling from Farpu Jirokilo to Namadi in Gokulganga.

According to the police, six people, including Chairperson Basnet, died at the scene of the crash, while two others were injured.

There were eight people in the vehicle.

Basnet had been elected as the Ward Chairperson in the local elections, representing the Nepali Congress.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
