Man held for threatening businessmen in Bishnoi’s name
The arrested individual, Hari Prasad Fuyal from Jhapa, was said to have been making threatening phone calls to Nepalese businessmen from India.
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police has arrested an individual on charges of issuing threats under the name of Lawrence Bishnoi.
The person was apprehended for allegedly threatening Nepalese businessmen while using the name of the notorious Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The arrested individual, Hari Prasad Fuyal from Jhapa, was said to have been making threatening phone calls to Nepalese businessmen from India, according to CIB spokesperson (SP) Hobindra Bogati.
Fuyal reportedly used Bishnoi’s name while threatening bankers and other businesspeople. According to Bogati, six victims have filed complaints with the CIB regarding the threats.
The callers claimed to be seeking financial support for Durga Prasai’s efforts to protect Hinduism. They then went on to threaten the businessmen by revealing detailed personal information.
Initial investigations show that the CIB has traced 141 calls originating from India.
