By-election preparations complete in Tilagupha

KATHMANDU: Preparations for the by-election in Ward No. 4 of Tilagupha Municipality, Kalikot District, have been completed ahead of the vote for the post of chairman, scheduled for Dec 1.

A voting officer, one assistant election officer, two staff members, and an assistant have been mobilized for the polling process.
An all-party meeting was held today to ensure the effective enforcement of the election code of conduct, with the silence period set to begin on Thursday night.
The District Police Office has also strengthened security measures for the election. The voting center will serve 609 voters.
Candidates for the ward chairman position include Pail Bahadur Shahi from the Nepali Congress, Ain Bahadur Shahi from CPN UML, Khadka Bahadur Shahi from the Nepal Workers and Peasant Party, and Gagan Bam from the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
Naishova Shahi is running as the candidate from CPN (Maoist Centre), according to Laxman Bahadur Shahi, the Information Officer at the District Election Office.
The by-election follows the death of the former chairman of Tilagupha-4, Param Bahadur Shahi, in a landslide on Oct 10, 2022.
