Explosion at factory in southeastern Spain kills 3, injures 6
The explosion caused parts of the building's roof and walls to collapse, trapping several people under the rubble.
KATHMANDU: A blast at a factory in the southeastern Spanish city of Ibi on Wednesday has resulted in three fatalities and three serious injuries.
Pilar Bernabé, the Spanish government representative for the Valencia region, confirmed the deaths at the Industrias Climber factory, located about 35 kilometers from Alicante.
The explosion caused parts of the building’s roof and walls to collapse, trapping several people under the rubble.
At the time of the blast, 39 people were inside the building.
In addition to the three fatalities, three individuals sustained severe injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals in Alicante, Valencia, and Alcoy.
Three others suffered minor injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
