Man kills Friend in Makwanpur

KATHMANDU: A man in Makwanpur has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend with a shovel while they were sleeping at his home.

The incident occurred in Pratapur Lachka, Manahari Rural Municipality-6, where 50-year-old Jeet Bahadur Muktan was attacked by Ammar Bahadur Lopchan, a local resident.

Around 1:30 AM last night, Lopchan suddenly struck Muktan with a sickle while he was asleep at Lopchan’s house.

Muktan sustained serious head and leg injuries and was rushed to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, where he died at 3:30 AM during treatment, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal.

Both Muktan and Lopchan worked together in the construction sector and frequently stayed at Lopchan’s house.

Lopchan has been taken into custody along with the sickle, and the police are investigating the motive behind the attack.
