Wife killed, husband injured in truck-scooter collision

KATHMANDU: A woman was killed and her husband injured in a tragic accident at Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur, when a truck collided with their scooter.

At around 7:00 AM today, a truck with registration number NA 8 Kha 2311, heading from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu, collided with a scooter (BA.PR. 02–038 Pa 4401) traveling in the same direction.

The woman, identified as 41-year-old Nabina Deula, lost her life in the accident.

She was rushed to Bhaktapur International Hospital, where she was declared dead at 7:45 AM.

Her husband, Jite Deula, was also injured in the incident and is receiving treatment at the Citizen Hospital.

The truck driver, 38-year-old Buddha Bahadur Ghalan from Makwanpurgadhi-4, has been arrested by the Thimi Police Station.
