Foreign Minister Rana visiting China ahead of PM Oli’s official trip
The Prime Minister, leading a 40-member delegation, will embark on the visit starting Dec 3 (Mangsir 17), with Dr. Rana also included in the team.
KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba is set to leave for China today in preparation for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming official visit.
The Prime Minister, leading a 40-member delegation, will embark on the visit starting Dec 3 (Mangsir 17), with Dr. Rana also included in the team.
As part of her preliminary trip, Minister Rana is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday, Nov 29 (Mangsir 14), in Chengdu.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will take place during a special event where both leaders are expected to discuss key bilateral issues.
The primary objective of Dr. Rana’s visit is to lay the groundwork for Prime Minister Oli’s tour, which aims to address mutual interests and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Nepal and China.
Her discussions with the Chinese Foreign Minister are anticipated to enhance the effectiveness of the Prime Minister’s high-level engagements.
The official visit by Prime Minister Oli will focus on fostering closer ties and advancing areas of shared interest between the two neighboring countries.
