KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the submission of full text and video clips of public speeches made by leaders and lawmakers of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Taking a contempt of court petition filed by advocate Anupam Bhattarai seriously, the court issued this directive.

A joint bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Nirpa Dhwaj Niraula instructed the petitioner to present all relevant documents on Wednesday.

The court further directed that the speeches from the videos be transcribed and submitted.

RSP leaders had staged protests in support of party President Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with a cooperative scam.

During the protests, the leaders allegedly made inflammatory speeches that undermined the dignity of the judiciary.
