Siddhartha Bank & NCHL partner to enable cross-border payments via Alipay+ network in Nepal
This will allow tourists from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, South Korea, Sweden, and Italy to make payments easily.
KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Bank and Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) have signed an agreement to enable domestic payments through NEPALPAY merchant QR codes via Alipay+ network wallets and mobile banking services.
This will allow tourists from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, South Korea, Sweden, and Italy to make payments easily using their domestic wallets on NEPALPAY QR and interoperable QR codes in Nepal.
According to the bank, payments can be made through various platforms within the Alipay+ network, including Alipay China, OCBC, Changipay, Gcash, AlipayHK, Hipay, KakaoPay, TossPay, NaverPay, TnGD, PBB, TrueMoney, Mpay, and Tinaba.
This agreement aims to simplify and expedite international payments, offering convenience to tourists and boosting businesses in sectors such as tourism, hotels, restaurants, retail, and other service industries by facilitating secure and efficient financial transactions.
