Weather: Rain, snow expected; Kathmandu temps drop

KATHMANDU: Some regions of the country may experience rainfall, while light snowfall is possible in certain areas.

This morning, partial clouds were observed over the hilly regions, while the rest of the country experienced mainly clear weather.

Fog and mist covered some areas in the Terai and a few places in the hilly regions.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the afternoon will see partial clouds in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali States.

Elsewhere, the weather will range from partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Light rain is likely at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.

Similarly, light snowfall is expected in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki States.

Kathmandu Valley Temperature Declines

The Department has noted the influence of a mild westerly wind across the country. While the hilly areas have partial clouds, most other regions enjoy clear skies.

However, fog has been reported in some places in the Terai and hilly regions.

The temperature in Kathmandu Valley continues to drop. This morning, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8°C, which later improved to 10°C.

The maximum temperature is forecasted to range between 19°C and 21°C today.

This afternoon, the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali States will remain partly cloudy, with clear weather prevailing in other parts of the country.

Light rain may occur at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.

Additionally, light snowfall is possible in the higher hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki States.

Tonight, partial clouds will persist in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, while other areas will remain clear.

Light rain is likely in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki States.

Over the next 24 hours, one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States may experience light rain.

Similarly, light snowfall may occur in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki States.
