KATHMANDU: Businessman Durga Prasai, arrested on cybercrime charges, has been presented at the Supreme Court (SC) following a petition filed by his son Nirajan Prasai.

The petition claimed that Prasai was being detained unlawfully.

Acting on the petition, the court had ordered Prasai to be brought before it for a hearing.

Prasai was arrested for allegedly disseminating misleading video content against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

In the video, Prasai accused the Prime Minister of making investments in Cambodia.

The police are conducting further investigations while keeping Prasai in custody.
