Truck hits motorcycle in Morang, one killed on the spot

KATHMANDU: A young man died at the scene of a collision in Morang.

The accident occurred around 7 PM on Monday near the bus station in Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-1, West.

On the East-West Highway, a motorcycle (registration number Pr-1-02-040 P 6025) heading from Belbari towards Urlabari was hit by a truck (registration number NL-01 AD 5511) coming from the opposite direction.

The collision resulted in the death of the motorcyclist at the scene.

The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Tarjan Rai from Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-11.

The truck driver, 42-year-old Dinesh Kumar Das, a resident of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, India, has been arrested.

The District Police Office, Morang, stated that further investigations are ongoing.
