KATHMANDU: The trophy for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) was unveiled today in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The ceremony, held at the Dharahara premises, featured marquee players from all eight participating teams.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Oli acknowledged the government’s shortcomings in promoting sports. “The government has not been able to provide adequate support to the sports sector, and I am not satisfied with that,” he said. “We have failed to encourage sports to the extent it deserves.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the day for Nepali cricket. “NPL marks a grand and inspiring milestone in the history of Nepali cricket. It fulfills the dreams of our players and inspires future generations,” he said. “This is not just a moment of pride for cricket enthusiasts worldwide but also for the current generation, who take immense pride in the hard work and success of Nepali cricketers.”
