President Paudel approves resignation, army deployment, and ambassador appointment
KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has approved the resignation of Suresh Adhikari, Secretary of the House of Representatives in the Federal Parliament.
Adhikari submitted his resignation to the President on Sunday, which has been accepted under Clause 6(a) of the Remuneration, Service Conditions, and Facilities Act, 2075 for the Federal Parliament’s officials, effective from Monday, as per the Office of the President.
In another significant decision, President Paudel has approved the deployment of the army for the upcoming local by-elections scheduled for Dec 1.
Acting on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, this approval aims to ensure the elections are conducted in a secure, fearless, impartial, and peaceful manner. The Office of the President clarified that the approval was granted under Article 66(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Additionally, President Paudel has appointed Chitralekha Yadav as Nepal’s Ambassador to Australia.
The appointment, made on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, was formalized under Article 282(1) of the Constitution.
These decisions highlight the President’s active role in addressing key administrative and constitutional responsibilities.
