AGENCY: In Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, a man declared dead by doctors revived just as he was being placed on the funeral pyre, leaving those present in shock.

However, he passed away a few hours later.

The man, identified as Rohitash Kumar, was a deaf-mute and had no family, residing in a shelter home.

He was initially thought to have died while being transported from BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu to Jaipur, about 180 km away, on Friday, according to officials.

Following the incident, three doctors, including Principal Medical Officer Sandeep Pachar, were suspended by Jhunjhunu District Collector Ramavtar Meena for alleged medical negligence.

The news of a miraculous revival has stunned the Jhunjhunu community. District Collector Ramavtar Meena has ordered an immediate investigation and requested a report from the postmortem officer.

The medical department secretary has also been informed. Tehsildar Mahendra Mund and Deputy Director of Social Justice, Pawan Poonia, visited the hospital to assess the situation, while Dr. Sandeep Pachar led a meeting with doctors to discuss the incident.

The local police, led by Baghad Police Officer Hemraj Meena, have launched an inquiry, though no conclusions have been reached.
