Couple found dead in Sinamangal hotel after returning from Canada
The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Ramesh Majhi and 29-year-old Sharmila Majhi from Duhabi, Sunsari.
KATHMANDU: A couple was found dead on the fourth floor of Hotel Janmabhoomi in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Ramesh Majhi and 29-year-old Sharmila Majhi from Duhabi, Sunsari.
The couple had arrived in Kathmandu from Canada on Saturday.
According to SP Nawaraj Adhikari of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, the couple had gone directly to the hotel from the airport. They were staying in room 120 on the fourth floor.
On Sunday morning, both were discovered hanging from the balcony with a single scarf.
Their bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
The procedure will be conducted once the family members arrive, SP Adhikari said.
The police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
