KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chair of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has stated that the power-sharing arrangement with the Nepali Congress will remain intact until the upcoming elections.
Referring to the misinformation spread by those who predicted the government would not last until Dashain and Tihar, and now claim it won’t survive until Falgun, Prime Minister Oli asserted that the current government will remain in place until the general elections scheduled for Mangsir 2084.
Oli emphasized that the political equation will hold steady until the 2084 Mangsir elections.
Speaking at a joint awareness program organized by the Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur district committees of CPN-UML in Kathmandu on Friday, he mentioned that after 18 months, he would hand over the leadership of the government to Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He also directed the party leaders and activists to dispel the false claims that the government would not complete its full term.
Prime Minister Oli clarified that cooperation with the Nepali Congress is necessary to prevent the country and democracy from falling into crisis, and to avoid creating chaos within society.
He further emphasized that the government would thwart any attempts to destabilize the country and divide society.
