Paddy production in Dang rises by 10%, hits 178,700 metric tonnes

KATHMANDU: Paddy production in Dang district has risen by 10% this year, reaching 178,700 metric tonnes, according to the District Agriculture Knowledge Centre.

Timely fertilizer supply and adequate rainfall were key factors behind the increase.

Prithvi Raj Lamichhane, the Centre’s Information Officer, reported that paddy was cultivated on 36,108 hectares of land in the district.

Farmers in Dang grew varieties such as Sabitri, Radha-4, Sunaulo Sugandha, Loktantra, Gorakhnath, and US 312, among others.
