Chhabilal Joshi’s statement begins
Joshi has been in police custody for an extended period.
KATHMANDU: Chhabilal Joshi, arrested in connection with a cooperative fraud case, has begun giving his statement in Kathmandu.
He was brought from Pokhara to Kathmandu, where his statement is being recorded at the District Government Attorney’s Office.
The statement is part of the investigation into his involvement in the misappropriation of funds from the Swarnalakshmi Multipurpose Cooperative.
Joshi was transferred to Kathmandu from Pokhara on Tuesday and has been in police custody for a long time.
He is the former operator of the Gorkha Media Network.
Joshi is accused of embezzling funds from several cooperatives, including the Surya Darshan Cooperative in Pokhara and the Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative in Kathmandu.
He is alleged to have conspired with GB Rai, Rabi Lamichhane, and others to misappropriate cooperative funds through the Gorkha Media Network.
