Rs 5 million donated by NC to PMDRF deposited 40 days after cheque handover

KATHMANDU: The 5 million rupees donated by the Nepali Congress to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund have now been deposited.

The donation was transferred to the relief fund 40 days after the cheque was handed over by the party.

The Nepali Congress, through its executive and parliamentary party meetings, decided to donate 5 million rupees for the flood victims of Sept 26-28.

Following the decision, party leaders handed over the cheque to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Oct 6.

However, the amount was not deposited into the relief fund until recently.
