KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Suhang Nembang has claimed that certain actions are leading the entire Nepali society into depression.
He criticized the propagation of the message that “the country is finished, nothing will improve,” stating that such a narrative is pushing the entire society, especially a generation, into despair.
Nembang further commented that some individuals are endorsing illegal practices, undermining the country’s legal structures, procedures, and provisions. He wrote on social media, accusing these individuals of sowing anarchy and attempting to start “historic looting” based on chaos.
He argued that this message — “the country is done, nothing will ever improve” — is designed to instill hopelessness across Nepali society.
According to Nembang, this is a deliberate effort to lead an entire generation into depression.
Nembang emphasized that the CPN-UML is well aware of the processes behind producing the “language of despair,” as well as the systems that amplify such negative emotions. He concluded by criticizing attempts to lead the nation into depression based on weaknesses and failures, calling it a misguided effort.
