MP Bajgain apologizes to tourism minister Pandey

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Rajendra Bajgain has apologized to Tourism Minister Badri Pandey after accusing him of taking millions in commission when approving a casino license.
Bajgain had previously alleged that the operator of Royal Tiger Recreation had bribed the minister when the casino license was granted.
Following these accusations, the party sought clarification and demanded evidence. In response, Bajgain issued an apology via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that after discussions with party General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma and Discipline Committee Chairperson Ananda Dungana, he realized that his remarks had caused significant harm to Minister Pandey.
Bajgain expressed regret for his comments and withdrew the allegations, also apologizing for the impact his words had on the minister’s family.
Minister Pandey had filed a complaint with the party’s disciplinary committee following the accusations.
