EC to distribute election symbols today for local by-elections
Candidates who have registered their nominations can withdraw their candidacy between 9 AM and 1 PM today.
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is scheduled to distribute election symbols to candidates today for the upcoming local level by-elections, set for Mangsir 16 (Dec 1).
Following the announcement of the candidate list on Tuesday, today’s program includes the withdrawal of nominations, the publication of the final candidate list, and the allocation of election symbols.
Candidates who have registered their nominations can withdraw their candidacy between 9 AM and 1 PM today.
The final list of candidates will be made public between 1 PM and 3 PM, and election symbols will be distributed during this time.
Previously, 410 candidates had registered for the 44 local bodies holding by-elections.
These elections will fill vacant positions in district coordination committees, municipalities, rural municipalities, and ward positions.
