PM Oli displeased, preparing for cabinet reshuffle
The talks between Oli and Deuba have focused on government performance, current political affairs, and the upcoming by-elections.
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba have initiated discussions on reshuffling ministers in the government.
The talks between Oli and Deuba have focused on government performance, current political affairs, and the upcoming by-elections.
It has been four months since the Congress-CPN-UML coalition government was formed based on a seven-point agreement on July 14.
Recently, there have been calls for the removal of some ministers whose performance has been deemed unsatisfactory.
In response, preparations are underway to replace certain ministers from both the UML and Congress with new faces.
Prime Minister Oli has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of ministers he trusted, acknowledging their inability to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
Amid ongoing criticism of the government’s handling of the economy and other issues, sources suggest that both Deuba and Oli are considering replacing at least three ministers from each party.
The coalition government, which holds a near two-thirds majority, has faced heavy criticism for failing to address the country’s economic challenges and restore public confidence.
