Elderly cyclist dies in truck collision in Nawalparasi

KATHMANDU: An elderly cyclist died after being hit by a truck in Susta, Nawalparasi, on Tuesday night.

According to DSP Resham Bohara of the Nawalparasi West District Police Office, the incident occurred around 9:45 PM at Baruwa Chowk on an inner road of Susta Rural Municipality-1.

Ramji Nepali, a 65-year-old local, was critically injured when a truck (license plate Lu 2 Kha 893) heading from Bardaghat to Triveni collided with his bicycle, which was traveling in the same direction.

Nepali was rushed to Shahid Smriti Community Hospital in Choupatta, where doctors declared him dead upon reaching.

Police have detained the truck driver, and Nepali’s body has been sent to Prithvi Chandra Hospital in Parasi for post-mortem examination.
