Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank launches ‘Green Home Loan’ at 8.99% interest rate

KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has announced a new loan scheme targeting customers, offering the Mahalaxmi Green Home Loan at an attractive interest rate of just 8.99%.
This initiative aligns with the bank’s policy of providing sustainable and eco-friendly loans.
The green home loan is available for homes constructed using renewable or sustainable energy sources, including hydroelectric, wastewater treatment, wind, solar, and biomass energy.
The loan can be used for purchasing homes, constructing new buildings, buying apartments, or for renovation and repairs.
The bank is offering loans with a minimum term of 2 years and a maximum of 30 years.
To qualify, the home must meet environmental sustainability criteria, demonstrating the use of eco-friendly and renewable energy.
The bank believes that this initiative will contribute to environmental conservation, promote sustainable development, and comply with the regulatory guidelines set by Nepal Rastra Bank.
Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has a network of 103 branches nationwide and serves approximately 800,000 customers.
