Woman injured in gas leak fire dies

Naimun suffered burns to 75% of her body, while Aasho sustained burns to 15%.

KATHMANDU: A 38-year-old woman, Naimun Khatun, from Jhanjhat Tole, Ishwarpur Municipality-6, has passed away while undergoing treatment for burn injuries.

The incident occurred while she was cooking on Nov 10, when a leaking LPG gas cylinder caught fire, injuring both Naimun and her 19-year-old daughter, Aasho Khatun.

Locals immediately rescued the victims and rushed them to a local hospital in Bayalbas.

While Aasho received treatment and has since returned home, Naimun was referred to Kirtipur Hospital, where doctors reportedly declared her condition untreatable.

She was then transferred to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, where she succumbed to her injuries.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, Naimun suffered burns to 75% of her body, while Aasho sustained burns to 15%.
