‘Hostel 3’ set for global release, rights sold in key markets
Recently, its distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand were sold, following prior sales in Japan, the Middle East, and Malaysia.
KATHMANDU: Nepali movie Hostel 3, currently under production and set to release worldwide on Falgun 16 (Feb 28), has been making waves internationally.
Recently, its distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand were sold, following prior sales in Japan, the Middle East, and Malaysia.
The Australia and New Zealand rights were acquired by Black Eye Creation (Raju Khan and Sudin KC), while UNA Entertainment secured the rights for Japan, and Aashish Entertainment purchased the rights for the Middle East and Malaysia.
Directed by Sushant Kandel, Hostel 3 is regarded as a significant addition to the popular Hostel franchise.
The movie features a talented cast, including Paras Bam, Rihan Giri, Padam Tamang, Simran Panta, Hena Nagarkoti, Umar Khan, Sama Parajuli, Santosh Baniya, Rohan Shrestha, Ashish Purush, and others.
The Hostel series has a reputation for launching fresh talents into the Nepali film industry.
The first Hostel introduced Anmol KC, Salon Basnet, and Prakriti Shrestha, while Hostel Returns spotlighted Swastima Khadka, Sushil Shrestha, Najir Hussain, and Sushil Sitaula. Both films were box-office successes, released in 2013 (2070) and 2015 (2072), respectively.
The script for Hostel 3 is penned by Madhav Sharma, based on a story by director Sushant Kandel.
The film is being produced by Samman Entertainment in collaboration with Aaron Khan Films.
Arjun Tiwari is the Director of Photography, with Buddha Thapa and Manoj Khatri handling cinematography.
The film’s team includes Sudip Kunwar as chief assistant director, Yam Prasad Oli as production designer, and Shankar Koirala as executive producer.
Producers Karna Karki and Govinda Adhikari are joined by co-producers Sudha Marhattha, Suresh Kandel, and Arjun Sapkota, while Bhesraj Gautam serves as the line producer.
