Arrest warrant issued against Rabi Lamichhane by Kathmandu District Court

KATHMANDU: A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), in connection with an alleged embezzlement case involving the Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative.

The Kathmandu District Court issued the arrest warrant for Lamichhane and former DIG Chhabilal Joshi.

Judge Shishirraj Dhakal granted permission for both to be held in custody for further investigation by the Kathmandu District Police on Sunday.

Currently, Lamichhane and Joshi are in custody at the Kaski District Police Office.

Lamichhane was initially arrested on Kartik 2 in relation to the cooperative fraud case.

He is being investigated for charges related to cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
