29 injured as two buses collide in Gorechautara
The buses involved were a Gandaki GAA 0070 bus and a Bhe 1 Kha 3487 bus, which crashed into each other, as confirmed by the Tanahun District Police Office.
KATHMANDU: A collision between two buses at Gorechautara, New Bridge in Bandipur Rural Municipality-5, Tanahun, left 29 passengers injured this afternoon.
The buses involved were a Gandaki GAA 0070 bus and a Bhe 1 Kha 3487 bus, which crashed into each other, as confirmed by the Tanahun District Police Office.
Among the injured, five are reported to be in serious condition, according to Ashok Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer at the District Police Office.
Thapa further mentioned that the five critically injured passengers were sent to Chitwan’s CMC Hospital for advanced treatment.
The passengers trapped in the buses were rescued with the assistance of a bulldozer from the Muglin-Pokhara road project.
Currently, the injured are receiving treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre, as per the police report.
