KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that it will begin the second phase of its protest movement starting from Nov 23.

At a press conference held at the party’s office in Banasthali on Sunday, the Acting Spokesperson of RSP, Manish Jha, informed that the second phase of the movement would address several key issues.

The agenda for the protest includes demands for the cessation of political revenge, the revision of criminal laws, the return of savings for cooperative victims, the establishment of an autonomous cooperative authority, and a judicial inquiry into corruption scandals through an independent judicial commission.

The party also seeks amendments to a dozen economic laws for structural economic reforms to promote a dynamic economy, the assurance of voting rights for migrants and non-resident Nepalis, and the organization of an all-party conference to amend the Constitution.

On Oct 18, RSP President Rabi Lamichhane was arrested in connection with a cooperative scam.

He is under investigation for charges related to cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
