KATHMANDU: A large-scale cleaning campaign at the renowned religious site Pathibhara Dham in Taplejung successfully collected and managed nearly one thousand kilograms of waste.

The campaign was organized by the Pathibhara Area Development Committee and saw the participation of 130 people, including security personnel from all three local security forces, committee members, staff, and local residents from the surrounding area.

According to Prajin Hangbang, the Executive Director of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, the cleaning drive focused on collecting and managing waste materials such as plastic, metal, tin, and glass.

Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma highlighted the importance of maintaining the environmental cleanliness of the Pathibhara area, stating that the administration would continue to support such initiatives. He urged visitors and tourists to avoid littering and emphasized the need for everyone to contribute to preserving the cleanliness of Pathibhara.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Naresh Maharjan from the Armed Police Force 1st Battalion, Kanchenjunga, also pledged ongoing support from the security forces to maintain cleanliness around the temple and attract more tourists.

He noted that with the high number of visitors during the Dashain-Tihar festival season, the area accumulates more waste, which led to the organization of this large-scale cleaning effort.

Hangbang further informed that the committee plans to continue these cleaning initiatives to ensure the natural environment remains pristine.
